In 2022, Cecília realizes the harm that the « House of Paz » will do to Água-Marinha and to Maria’s business, leading her to make drastic changes. Maria, meanwhile, begins to see Cecília in a different light. In 1922, although she has become more aware of the limitations of the time, Paz uses her « influencing » abilities and Cecília’s best friend in an attempt to win the priest’s support.
